The Lord has made proclamation

to the ends of the earth:

“Say to Daughter Zion,

‘See, your Savior comes!

See, his reward is with him,

and his recompense accompanies him.’”

They will be called the Holy People,

the Redeemed of the Lord;

and you will be called Sought After,

the City No Longer Deserted (Isaiah 62:11-12, NIV).

As in the first part of Isaiah 62, here we see God giving His sons and daughters new names. He calls us Holy; we are separated from the curse of the world. We are Redeemed, bought from the curse, able to receive to His blessings. We are Sought After; we are wanted and desired. We are the City No Longer Deserted, fruitful because He broke the curse. Something changes when we stop saying what we are and start saying what we will be. This changes when we stop circling back to the person we don’t want to be. We are no longer abandoned or forsaken; we are adopted in Him, which means He choose us to be a part of His family.
