We live in the hour of Satan’s greatest attack against mankind. But we also live in the greatest hour of the church. These two kingdoms are in a titanic struggle for the souls of this generation. God, by His Spirit, has begun to reveal to individuals and leaders the “strong man” over families and cities and nations.
It is God’s will to expose these evil spiritual rulers in order for His people to rise up in power and authority to bind and defeat them. 1 John 4:1 tells us to “not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” We are to “test” (discern, examine, prove, test) the spirits at work in our world.
Ignorance is Satan’s greatest weapon against the church! We are not to be ignorant of Satan’s strategies and strongholds “lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.” (2 Corinthians 2:11)
This Scripture tells us that ignorance gives Satan the advantage over us. Through the Holy Spirit, we are to discern and destroy the work of Satan. This spiritual discovery gives us the advantage over him! To the equipped and empowered believer, victory begins the very moment that Satan’s influence is discovered. God reveals spiritual things in order for us to pray and act accordingly.
