The moment a person accepts Christ, they are born into the family of God. They enter a peace-filled relationship with God, and He puts His peace inside of them. We are in the kingdom of God when we live in peace and spread it to those that are anxious, lost, or depressed. Our peace is not dependent on the circumstances around us. Our peace is a divine gift from a loving God. We use it to conquer the upheavals in man’s soul. We use it to overcome the lies of the devil, especially about what kind of life we are supposed to live.

Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe? Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:31-33)

Jesus replied, “Now you finally believe in me. And the time has come when you will all be scattered, and each one of you will go your own way, leaving me alone! Yet I am never alone, for the Father is always with me. And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!” (John 16:31-33; TPT)

We have peace because Jesus overcame the world. Jesus’ peace is in us. Nothing has the power to take it unless we give it permission. The peace we have from Jesus is stronger than the world and the power of the devil.  The peace of Jesus allows us to stand our ground, kick the devil in the shin, and tell him to get out of our lives. This is available to everyone that knows Christ. Peace is God’s will. Peace is God’s plan. Peace is God’s weapon. Peace is God’s joy in our heart.
