Jesus satisfies “the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness,” (Psalm 107:9), and He keeps us safe from the destruction laying waste to the souls of so many around us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35-39)
Once we eat of God’s Bread of Life, Jesus takes our life and holds on tight. He guards and keeps us from the works of the enemy. “…whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:15)
In a day and age where rejection is the norm, when we have to fight to gain the attention of other people, when love grows cold so fast, it should comfort our hearts to know that Jesus never says “No” to the person that says “Yes” to Him. Jesus rejects no one. There has never been a day when he turned away someone that accepted Him. Hugh Hefner, founder of Playboy, a man derided and demonized in the Christian world, had said on his deathbed that he accepted and received Christ as His Savior, and confessed his sins to Jesus, he would have been saved.
