How does Jesus Christ works today in the life of believer today? 

The book of Hebrews was written to Jewish believers in Jesus Christ. Today, we would call them Messianic Jews. The most important person in Judaic history is Moses. He was the law giver. He was the one that God downloaded all the laws to. “The Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.” (Exodus 33:11) “He made known His ways to Moses.” (Psalm 103:7) And as great as he was, someone greater has come. 

His name is Jesus. “And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, ‘This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!’” (Luke 9:35) The son of God, the one greater than all spiritual leaders—Jewish and non-Jewish—is the beginner and finisher of our faith. He is the apostle and founder of our faith. He is also our high priest. He is working on writing our faith journey as you read this. 

Jesus created all we see. He is the cause of all that we know. To illustrate this: I have the largest version of the iPhone. I got it to fight off the need to get glasses. I am fighting nature by doing this and continually increasing the size of the fonts on documents so I can read them. Nonetheless, this iPhone that I use didn’t just happen. It is evidence that there was a cause. It was Steve Jobs’ idea. His team built. And now I am holding it. 

Everything in creation is evidence of a cause. The only place that doesn’t apply in the scientific theory is evolution. It is the only place that people actually think something came from nothing. Nowhere else does that apply in science. And that order came from disorder. It is so illogical. Even the effect of a snowman meant someone built it. 

Jesus builds the house. The personification and express image of the Father, Jesus Christ, the son, has come. If you see Jesus you see God. Jesus showed us who God is. He is a son of honor, representing God. 

In the Old Testament, God revealed himself to mankind in Genesis by angels. Covenants were given to men through spiritual, dynamic, miraculous ways. Then, through Moses and the laws. His encounters with God produced the blueprint for the tabernacle and then the laws, the ordinances, the festivals of God. And then God raises up priests. And then prophets. 

Jesus’ revelation, when he showed up, was superior to angels. His revelation to us of who God is was superior to the angels that showed up in Genesis. His revelation of God was superior to that of Moses’ revelation of God. Moses was the servant. Jesus Christ is the God-man. Jesus is greater than any religious mind. Jesus is our high priest. 

I say all of that to say this: Jesus is living, he is powerful, and he is actively involved in the church and in your life. His miraculous power has not diminished. He did not stop working in the lives of those he loves. He did not step away from his body and deplete it of it’s power. No, he is the source of all good and righteous things. He is the source of our life today. And he wants to see you live in the new life he has given you.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)
