ā¦knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot (1 Peter 1:18-19).
Blood is a precious thing. We are all born with blood full of DNA that dictates the course of our physical and mental lives. Parents know the experience of having babies who are priceless and perfect. Then they reach the age of two and an evil spell takes over them. They become little sinners. Their sin-filled DNA, impacted by Adam and Eveās original fall, activates and they start to rebel, and go their own way. Without Jesusā sacrifice, we would have all been locked in that sin-filled life forever. But He broke the curse in our DNA with the power of His sinless blood. His blood delivered us from the tainted, sinful blood in our veins. Nothing can change us from enemies of God to children of God except for the blood of Jesus.
Reflect.
Think back over your life. Have you ever met someone that was innocent or naive? What did you feel around them? When we think of Jesus, we have to see Him as pure and without evil. We donāt know anyone like that. Spend 10-15 minutes really considering this aspect of Jesusā life.
Prayer.
We donāt have because we donāt ask. So spend time asking Jesus to cleanse your life of āblemishesā and āspotsā that keep you from being pure in this evil world.
