Jesus is the proof of God’s love for us. Our faith in Christ allows the peace of God to flow into our lives, which can take away our angst and anxiety. The burden of our sins can be lifted off of us. The peace of God takes over and tells us that we are loved.

Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men” (Romans 14:16-18).

Religious rituals meant to get us closer to God are not what makes up God’s kingdom. His kingdom is righteous, peace, and joy. Righteousness is our right standing with God and our identity in God. Peace and joy are emotional. God wants them to rule in our soul, so we are calm and confident. Peace and joy in the Kingdom of God are normal. Anything outside of peace is abnormal.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27; NIV).

“I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!” (John 14:27; TPT)
