As you flood your thought life with God’s living word, His Spirit will draw God’s vision on the blueprint of your heart.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

God’s word is alive and filled with God’s nature and power. This verse tells us that His Word begins to sort out and separate the thoughts and intents of your heart and bring clarity so we can know what is of God and what is not.

Jesus said in Matthew 12:34-35 that if you store evil in your heart (your thought life), then evil will come out of your mouth:

 “Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.”

People speak what their heart sees. When your vision is wrong, your words will be wrong. To change your words, you must change your vision. To change your vision, you must change your thoughts.

Psalm 1:1-3 gives us God’s unfailing system for success.

Blessed is the man

Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,

Nor stands in the path of sinners,

Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

But his delight is in the law of the Lord,

And in His law he meditates day and night.

He shall be like a tree

Planted by the rivers of water,

That brings forth its fruit in its season,

Whose leaf also shall not wither;

And whatever he does shall prosper.

Step one is to reject and remove ungodly associations and thoughts from our life. Step two is to allow God’s Word to dominate your conscious thought life day and night. This means you are to continually fill your thought life with God’s Word.

The result of these two steps is that a new image and vision will come to your life and bring with it prosperity and success. The process is very clear. If you will allow the Word of God to dominate your thinking, God will allow continual success to dominate your life. The key is meditation.

Proverbs 23:7 tells us that “as (a man) thinketh in his heart, so is he.” (KJV) For anything – whether good or bad – to control your life, it must first control your mind and your thought life. Whatever controls your thought life will control all of your life.

That is why the Bible tells us to wage war for the control of our mind.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…  (2 Cor. 10:3-5)

Your mind is the ultimate battleground between good and evil, God and Satan. Whoever controls your mind will control your entire life. That is why we are commanded to “pull down” wrong thinking and to control what we allow our mind to think on.

Joshua 1:7-8 says:

Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Here the Lord again promises us success and prosperity if we will meditate day and night in God’s Word. The Lord wanted Joshua to succeed and the Lord wants you to succeed. To build a vision of victory and the dream of success, the Word of God must dominate your thought life and your actions.

In James 1:25 we read:

But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

This promise tells us that if we will look at God’s Word continually (just like looking in a mirror) we will be blessed in our deeds. As we meditate, or look steadfastly at God’s Word, we begin to see ourselves through the vision of His Word and His Word will change us. As we begin to MEDITATE in God’s Word, His wisdom and vision emerge to give us SUCCESS AND VICTORY.
