I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. … But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. (Galatians 5:16-18, 22-26)

We overcome the flesh by walking in the Spirit. God has made a way for us to conquer the four categories of sin by walking in and living in the Spirit. We have to learn to apply God’s word practically and daily. When the enemy is working on us to give in to those sins, we can chose to walk in the fruit and defeat the flesh. The Holy Spirt will empower us to live in His fruit because we can’t do it on our own. It only takes one person, committed to living in the fruit of the Spirit to bring a revolution in our culture. If we are loving, joyful, peace-filled, patient, kind, good, gentle, faithful, and self-controlled when our culture reflects the opposite, we will break curses, bind the devil, and stop his kingdom from advancing.
